Corporate History
McKee Electronics, Inc. was founded in June 1932 by John P. McKee, Sr. as an electronic sales and service company
and has been in continuous service since then. Today the company is still owned by the McKee Family with its corporate center
in West Monroe.
In October 1958, the company acquired the Executone franchise for 13 parishes in Northeast Louisiana.
At that time the company moved into the electronics contracting industry, involving the company in sales, installation and maintenance
of various types of voice communication systems.
McKee Electronics entered the telephone industry in October 1977 providing the
company's new telecommunications customers the same dedicated 24-hour service and system monitoring that made the company successful
in the electronics industry.
The company began serving the Mississippi Delta in September 1986 with an established office in
Greenwood, Mississippi. In September 1987, the company purchased the Tupelo, Mississippi Executone franchise and in May of 1989
the company acquired Jackson, Mississippi office and Executone franchise. In 2003 we consolidated our Mississippi offices in
Greenwood. Today, the corporate office in West Monroe and our Mississippi office in Greenwood give the company a combined customer
base of 1,600 customers in 79 parishes and counties. The entire McKee Electronics staff embraces sound project management principals
and is dedicated to providing the highest quality service and equipment to company customers.
In 2000 McKee Electronics joined
with 40 other Executone Distributors throughout United States to form a company called IDeACOM. By uniting with other entrepreneurs
like ourselves, McKee Electronics was able to take advantage of synergies and purchasing power within this group, which ultimately
results in a broader arsenal of products, services, and technical support, at a better value, for our customers.
